1. Maintain the library

The single most important thing you can do this week is start (or continue) your personal prompt library. Three working prompts. Three more by the end of the month. Twenty by the end of the quarter. The library compounds your skill faster than any course can. If you forget everything else from this course, remember to keep the library.

2. Apply what you learned to the other free courses

Every course in our library uses prompt engineering. Going back to one you have taken — or trying one you have not yet — with sharper prompting instincts will produce a different experience.

If you are new to AI

Understanding AI

The plain-language tour of the whole field — what AI is, where it came from, where it is going. The natural foundation if you have not yet taken it.

Build Your First AI Agent

From writing prompts to building a custom assistant. Uses everything in Lesson 5 of this course.

For sport analysts

AI for Sport Analysts

The five-block system prompt design pattern from Lesson 5, applied across an entire sport-analytics workflow.

For security professionals

AI Security Foundations

Includes the OWASP Top 10 for LLMs — and prompt injection is the attack that targets your prompts directly.

If you work in Europe

The EU AI Act for Non-Lawyers

The regulatory frame on what you can ask AI systems to do — and the duties that come with deploying one.

Reading an AI Paper Like a Researcher

Goes one level deeper — including the academic papers that introduced techniques like chain-of-thought.

3. Go deeper — Tier 1 and Tier 2 of the full programme

This course sits between Tier 1 and Tier 2 of the Integrated AI Program. Tier 1 — The Foundation covers the prerequisites: critical thinking, AI history, programming and mathematics essentials. Tier 2 — Core AI goes deeper into generative AI, large language models, human-AI interaction, and the techniques behind everything you have learned here.

Together they form the 90 ECTS that every learner in the programme takes before specialising in one of the five paths. The full programme launches with the December 2026 cohort. Applications are open now. Apply or write to hello@romeoadvancedacademy.com.

4. Read these

A short reading list for the prompt-engineering craft specifically.

  • Anthropic's prompt engineering documentation at docs.claude.com. Practitioner-grade, kept up to date.
  • OpenAI's prompt engineering guide on the platform documentation site. Equivalent depth, slightly different style.
  • "Chain-of-Thought Prompting Elicits Reasoning in Large Language Models" by Wei et al., 2022. The original paper behind Pattern 2.
  • The Anthropic and OpenAI cookbooks on GitHub. Worked examples of real prompts for real tasks. Reading other people's prompts is one of the best ways to improve your own.

Tell us what we missed

This is the first version of this course. Prompt engineering is a young craft and the techniques change as models change. Tell us what we got wrong, what we left out, what worked for you and what did not. Email hello@romeoadvancedacademy.com with "Prompt engineering feedback" in the subject. We revise.

The December 2026 cohort opens for applications.

If this course made you want to go deeper, Tier 1 and Tier 2 of the Integrated AI Program are the structured path. Tier 1 builds your foundation; Tier 2 covers generative AI, LLMs, and human-AI interaction in working depth.
